I am Jewish-ish (as in, I'm pursuing conversion), so I'm considering making my character Jewish. I just don't want to step on any toes.

So, relatedly, what about Jews? I don't know much about this historically, but my general understanding is that how accepted you were was related to how wealthy you were (and there was a rise of wealthy Jewish financiers in this time period) as well as how assimilated you were, but you'd still be dealing with a lot of nasty anti-Semitic prejudice.
