@Sophrona Ramsbury yes. So the burden is on the players to know if they have used up their monthly sent allowance. We are also storing the scans in such a way on the database that we know exactly how many you have in that category at any given time. And will make a new column each month. If you send us more than the cap, we will check to see if you have bonus ones to use, if so we will count those down. If your letter "bank" is empty, we will then send you a note asking if you want to do an add-on or have us hold your letters to the following month. I am hoping the "empty bank" email is something I can automate in my system, but it has not yet been tested.

The allotted amount with your subscription resets each month. The Purchased add-ons go into a Bonus Pool that is just counted down as used. This way of doing it is easy to set up and track in the database and should not require more administrative cost than what the Add-on covers.

Vera, Cleopatra, and Jan will be in attendance (along with all of your other NPC correspondents and perhaps some of the Royal family). They will all of course have dances saved for each other but are also always happy to dance with other illustrious persons of Society!

This is a lovely community minded idea. The way we plan on tracking Letter Upgrades right now is to have a "Bonus Mail" column in the database. When someone purchases one, we add the extra 10 to that column to be ticked down when they go over their subscription allotment. Thus I don't see much more difficulty in un managing the movement of a number from one column to another. This should be doable. We would just the the Purchaser to contact us in email to make the change so they are authorizing the transfer and it is tracked appropriately.

So much! Elizabeth and Julie get the benefit of working in the same space so they can gossip about it together while crafting NPC letters. My partners get to hear me giggle from my office and occasionally rush to them to share some solicitous bit I just read :)

A lot of the world uses the real world era for that sort of information but you can also just email me or message if you want clarification. I tend to do a Google “how much did x cost in 1811” and go from there. It is one of the benefits of alt-history vs a fully fiction world.

@Cmmdr Jack Ill make a note to add this to the "How to Play" descriptions. It is one of those things that I just assumed in my head as a game designer but apparently did not communicate out well enough to all of you that you can and should do! :) I dropped bait in the newsletters for it and a couple people picked up on them, but that method doesn't work if you are generally not aware that you are allowed to grab the hooks!

@Colonel G.O. Molyneux so the impact on the news cycle is a good point. If that is your goal and you have a specific thing you want to push forward, you can always send letters directly to NPCs without us sending to you first. if for example you want to affect the war, you can send a letter to a Military leader you would imagine in the world or have seen in the Newsletter mentioned and make your plans known to them. Or reach out to a potential trade partner in Japan to negotiate a prove on silks, etc. You are not limited in the number of NPC letters you want to send to us, only in what we have the time/ budget to write to you each month. This gives you the power to push your narrative into the direction you want and we will lockstep with you, vs waiting to see what we bring to you, which is also an option for those who prefer that style of play. We can absolutely send NPC letters via PDF if you wish. I tend to not send PDFs until after the physical has hit the mail so they are not too far apart and it doesn't ruin the joy of the physical mail arrival. To clarify NPC letters as they are written for each individual will come out over the length of the month, not all at the start of the month like the Newsletters. I focus on writing the newsletter while Elizabeth writes NPCs, then once the newsletter is complete I hop on helping Elizabeth with NPCs. This month due to the change in how we are publishing newsletters I have had to be back to back on newsletter writing but will be done with that Sunday and can pick up the pace on the NPC letters. Even then, newsletters are a timed release, but your NPC letter will just show sometime in the current subscription month.

I just finished putting stamps on a very large batch of mostly PC letters and the start of our NPC letter flow. They will get dropped in the mail box tomorrow morning!

@Duke James Richmond (Greg) Yeah I'm seeing that now. My concern is the potential negative the ability for players to submit changes to characters that are not them as on the basic plan for airtable I can not restrict who a form is coming in from. Email means I can verify the source of the change.
