Anyone else find themselves eagerly checking the mailbox for the post even though it's too soon and you have no idea what's coming and from whom? Just me? I LOVE LETTERS SO MUCH, I can't contain myself with antici.......
I am currently reading Emma and there are huge long sections on writing and receiving letters and "the wonders of the modern postoffice." I find it all heavily relatable right now. There's one particularly delicious passage where the young poor ingenue, Jane Fairfax is having a very polite but vehement battle of wills with the wealthy Mrs. Elton about whether it is bad for Jane's health to take a daily walk to the post office. Mrs. Elton overbearingly Insists it is "No trouble at all for our men to do it." Shy Jane insists back that it is her favorite part of the day and brings her much joy for thr anticipation of a letter from a friend. Another delightful passage is the chatterbox Mrs. Bates going on and on about how "Jane always crosses her letters but her hand is so neat, we can read every word"
Same here - I sent out a packet last week, and will likely send another on Monday. This entire larp is bringing me back to having childhood pen-pals and the anticipation of letters being delivered pre-internet. 😄
@Lady Arabella Ashbrooke (Mitzie Gibson) I had wanted childhood penpals so badly. I tried so many times and nobody ever wrote me back so I am really excited for this.

Indeed we are doing the same. There is heightened expectations when the USPS comes by, then sad disappointment when there are just bills...:(
I've been doing the EXACT SAME THING. I sent out a few, but I am hoping to send some more out this weekend.
