I just want to drop a quick note based on feedback I have already received from the first newsletter.
For one, I am aware it could have used an editing pass. I do intend to pass these along to our contracted editor Amber in the future, but I did get a bit behind on this first one with the surprising overwhelming response of interested players for month 1 and erred on the side of getting it out to you on the 1st vs delaying for an editing pass.
I am working on a few things to make the newsletter better going forward both in content, quality, and cost to produce, as this month was more expensive than the subscriptions cover due to miscalculations on my part. I have found a company that will run actual newsprint tabloids for me though that will be more cost effective, more time efficient for me AND actual newsprint!
However they do have longer timelines, so I will be posting updated timelines for Newsletter inclusion in the next week, so everyone is aware of how that works.
Another thing is that fitting everyone into one paper as we have now reached 125 subscribers will become too burdensome to read and produce, so I am going to add an additional paper for every time we pass another 100 mark. I will give you an option of choosing your primary paper, in a survey to go out in the next week and also an option to add a subscription so you can collect them all if you wish. The intention is that each paper will be a 12 page tabloid size paper with custom content to the subscribers of that paper, and all papers will share about 25% world wide content. The very long list of eligible partners really ate up more of the paper than I intended this time around, so hopefully this gives you more plot and interesting world information to read and start conversations about!
I just want to thank all of you for supporting this project so far and all the feedback I have received. I take all of it to heart and am adjusting as we see how this works. This is a completely new format for me and one that was not lending itself to a good playtest, so I am working out the kinks as we go along. One of the biggest things is that I now have writing help and I already have a backlog of wonderful NPC letters written by Elizabeth to go over and approve! So hopefully next month goes smoother.
