@Octavia Thistledown (Tavvi) / (JL) Pretty much any subject or kind of poetry is acceptable, even though blank verse becomes popular a little later, and free verse hasn't really been invented yet. I don't want to discourage people from writing what they want, so anything outside of typical Regency poetry will just be considered experimental or very modern.

@Earl Nicholas Howard (Evan) Yes, they definitely have a lot in common. I suspect they also would have met after Declan's return to England, but they could easily bond over their family issues, artistic interests and roving lifestyle.

Declan is definitely all about attending salons; the wilder the better!

Declan's been abroad for quite a while, but it's possible he could have met them on a visit home.

Having a cautious friend to help curb Declan's wildness would be fun. I imagine your character might have pulled him out of the fire more than once!

Since the character is loosely based on Byron and Rossetti, I'm following the template of Byron's Grand Tour in 1810 - 1811, which was centered mostly in the Mediterranean. Declan is a bit older, and hasn't been touring as much as living a pastoral life somewhere in Greece, but I figure if it's good enough for Byron, it's good enough for me.

I apologize for having basically fallen off the map in the past week. I've been dealing with some health and family issues, and those, along with work, have eaten up a lot of my time. I'll do my best to respond to everyone over the next couple of days and, while I've already sent my first batch of letters, I am happy to write more. Once again, I'm sorry.
